These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Secret Sauce Box website and your purchase of or subscription to our products and services.
When we refer to “Secret Sauce Box”, “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean Secret Sauce Box.

2. About Secret Sauce Box
Secret Sauce Box is a UK sauce discovery subscription service.
Subscribers receive a selection of tasting-size sauces from independent UK sauce producers. The sauces, flavours, ingredients, heat levels and featured producers will vary from month to month.
The purpose of Secret Sauce Box is to help customers discover and sample different sauces before deciding whether they would like to purchase full-size products directly from the featured producer.
Images shown on our website, social media, advertising and other promotional materials may be illustrative. Packaging, sauce colour, consistency, branding and presentation may differ from examples shown.
3. Subscription Plans
We offer monthly, fixed-term, prepaid or other subscription plans.
The price, billing frequency, minimum term and renewal arrangements applicable to your subscription will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
Where your subscription automatically renews, you authorise us and our payment providers to charge the payment method associated with your account at the applicable renewal date unless you cancel in accordance with these Terms.
Depending on the plan selected, your subscription will renew monthly, every 6 months or every 12 months.
You are responsible for ensuring that your billing, delivery and payment information remains accurate and up to date.
4. Auto-Renewal
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, Secret Sauce Box subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the applicable subscription period until cancelled.
For example:
A monthly subscription renews each month.
A 6-month subscription renews every 6 months.
A 12-month subscription renews every 12 month.
The renewal price will be the price applicable to your subscription unless we have notified you of a permitted price change in advance.
We will comply with applicable statutory requirements relating to subscription renewals, reminders, cancellation and cooling-off rights.
5. Subscription Cancellations
If you would no longer like to receive your Secret Sauce Box, please send an email to hello@secretscentbox.co.uk stating the email address you signed up with and we will process your cancellation for you.
Please ensure you email us at least 48 hours before the next payment is due. Payment is always due on the 27th of the month, so you need to email us before the 25th. This will allow us enough time to cancel your subscription. If you are cancelling your 6 or 12 month prepay plan you will still receive the boxes for the remainder of the months you have paid for, after this your plan will not be automatically renewed.
6. Billing and Payments
We will normally attempt to take payment on the 27th of each month.
If that payment is unsuccessful, we will try again on the 30th and again 3 days later.
If all payment attempts are unsuccessful, we will not dispatch the relevant box. Your subscription may then be placed on hold until your payment details are updated. We will then try again the following month.
All subscriptions automatically renew according to the plan selected at checkout, which may be monthly, every 6 months or every 12 months, unless cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The price of your subscription must be paid in full before we are required to dispatch your box.
You authorise us and our payment providers to charge the payment method associated with your subscription at each applicable renewal date.
You are responsible for keeping your payment details up to date. If your payment card expires or is replaced, you should update your payment information as soon as possible to avoid interruption to your subscription.
We use third-party payment providers, including Stripe and our subscription management provider, to securely process payments.
We do not directly store your full debit or credit card details.
By providing payment information, you authorise our payment providers to process and store the information necessary to manage your subscription and payments in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Prices
All prices shown on our website are stated in pounds sterling unless otherwise indicated.
Any applicable delivery charges will be displayed before purchase.
We reserve the right to change our prices from time to time. A price change will not affect an order that has already been paid for.
Where a subscription price changes, we will provide any notice required by law before applying the new price to a future renewal.
8. What's Included in Your Box
Each Secret Sauce Box will normally contain the number of sauce samples described on the relevant subscription page.
The specific sauces and producer included each month are selected by Secret Sauce Box and may be kept as a surprise until customers receive their boxes.
We cannot guarantee that:
Every sauce will have the same heat level;
Every box will contain a particular combination of heat levels;
Every sauce will be considered “hot” by every customer;
A particular producer or sauce will be included;
A particular flavour profile will be included; or
You will personally enjoy every sauce.
Heat and taste are subjective and can vary considerably from person to person.
Descriptions such as “mild”, “medium”, “hot”, “very hot” or similar heat ratings are intended as general guidance only.
9. Ingredients and Allergens
Secret Sauce Box contains food products produced by independent sauce producers.
Ingredients and allergens can vary significantly between sauces and between monthly boxes.
You must always read the ingredient list, allergen information and any warnings provided with each individual sauce before consuming it.
You should not consume a sauce if:
You are allergic or intolerant to any ingredient listed;
You are unsure whether the sauce is suitable for you;
The bottle, packaging or tamper-evident seal appears damaged or compromised;
The product appears spoiled, contaminated or otherwise unsafe; or
You have been instructed by us or the producer not to consume the product.
Where required by law, relevant ingredient and allergen information will be made available before purchase and provided with the product when delivered.
Sauces may contain allergens including, but not limited to:
Celery
Cereals containing gluten
Crustaceans
Eggs
Fish
Lupin
Milk
Molluscs
Mustard
Nuts
Peanuts
Sesame
Soya
Sulphur dioxide and sulphites
Customers with food allergies or intolerances should exercise particular caution and check the information supplied for each individual product before consumption.
Where ingredient and allergen information has been provided to us by an independent producer, we rely on that producer to provide accurate and current information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any legal responsibility that Secret Sauce Box may have under applicable food safety or consumer protection law.
10. Chilli and Heat Warning
Some products supplied through Secret Sauce Box may contain chilli peppers, chilli extracts or other ingredients capable of producing significant levels of heat.
The perceived heat of chilli products varies considerably between individuals.
Hot sauces may cause temporary effects including burning sensations, sweating, watering eyes, coughing or gastrointestinal discomfort.
Customers should:
Start with a small amount when trying an unfamiliar sauce;
Use additional caution with products described as particularly hot;
Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive skin;
Wash hands thoroughly after handling particularly hot sauces;
Keep sauces out of the reach of children and pets; and
Follow any warnings or usage instructions supplied with the individual product.
Secret Sauce Box does not recommend consuming excessive quantities of very hot sauce or using products in a manner inconsistent with the producer's instructions.
11. Producer Information
The sauces included in Secret Sauce Box are manufactured by independent third-party sauce producers.
Producer names, logos, product names and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
Where we provide information about a producer or product, we aim for this information to be accurate but may rely upon information supplied directly by that producer.
We may encourage customers who discover a sauce they enjoy to purchase a full-size bottle directly from the producer.
Links to producer websites are provided for convenience. Any purchase subsequently made directly from a producer is a separate contract between you and that producer.
Secret Sauce Box is not responsible for products or services subsequently purchased directly from a third-party producer.
12. Food Quality and Storage
Customers are responsible for following any storage, refrigeration, opening, best-before, use-by and other instructions supplied with each sauce.
Once a product has been opened, its shelf life and storage requirements may change.
Secret Sauce Box cannot be responsible for deterioration resulting from circumstances after delivery that are outside our control, including:
Incorrect storage;
Failure to refrigerate a product where required;
Leaving products in excessive heat or direct sunlight;
Contamination after opening;
Failure to properly reseal a product; or
Consumption after an applicable use-by date.
If a product arrives damaged, leaking, visibly spoiled or with a compromised tamper-evident seal, do not consume it and contact us at hello@secretsaucebox.co.uk.
13. Shipping Times
We normally dispatch Secret Sauce Box subscriptions on the 7th of each month, or on the next working day where the 7th falls on a weekend or UK bank holiday.
UK customers should normally expect to receive their box around the 10th of the month, although delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on Royal Mail or other circumstances outside our control.
UK subscription boxes are normally sent using Royal Mail.
If we offer international delivery, delivery times will vary depending on the destination and shipping service used. International customers should allow additional time following dispatch.
Any estimated delivery date is not guaranteed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by Royal Mail, customs processing, severe weather, industrial action or other events outside our reasonable control.
14. Delivery Address and Missing Boxes
We will dispatch your box to the delivery address associated with your subscription.
You are responsible for ensuring that your delivery address is complete, accurate and kept up to date.
Any changes to your address should be made before your box is prepared for dispatch.
If a box is returned to us because you supplied an incorrect or incomplete address, we may require payment of reasonable additional postage costs before resending it.
If you believe your box has been lost or has not arrived within a reasonable period after dispatch, please contact us at hello@secretsaucebox.co.uk.
Repeated claims for undelivered boxes may be investigated and, where reasonably necessary, may result in the subscription being suspended or cancelled.
15. Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Products
If your box arrives damaged, contains a missing item or appears to contain an incorrect product, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at:
We may ask you to provide photographs of the box, bottle, label, packaging or other relevant information so that we can investigate the issue.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this section.
16. Promotional Offers and Discount Codes
From time to time, Secret Sauce Box may offer introductory discounts, free boxes, promotional codes or other special offers.
Additional terms applying to a promotion will be displayed with the relevant offer.
Where an offer requires a minimum subscription period, this will be clearly stated before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes:
Cannot be exchanged for cash;
May be limited to one per customer or household;
May have an expiry date;
May only apply to specified subscription plans; and
May be withdrawn or cancelled where we reasonably believe they have been misused.
17. Returns and Refunds
Because Secret Sauce Box contains food products, we are unable to accept returns of opened food products simply because you do not like the flavour, consistency or heat level.
This does not affect your statutory rights where products are faulty, damaged, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise do not meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

18. Product Safety and Recalls
Customer safety is important to us.
If we become aware of a safety issue, contamination concern, incorrect allergen information or product recall affecting a sauce supplied through Secret Sauce Box, we may contact affected customers using the contact details associated with their subscription.
Product safety communications are service communications and may therefore be sent even where you have opted out of marketing emails.
If Secret Sauce Box or a producer advises you not to consume a particular product, you should follow those instructions immediately.
We may provide instructions regarding disposal, replacement or refund depending upon the circumstances.
19. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
Breach of obligations that cannot legally be excluded; or
Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, we will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into.
Where Secret Sauce Box is purchased wholly or mainly for personal use, we are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings.
We will not be responsible for harm resulting from a customer's failure to follow clearly provided ingredient, allergen, storage, safety or usage information, to the extent permitted by law.
We will not be responsible for deterioration or contamination of products caused by improper handling or storage after delivery.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
20. Website Content
Users have a personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive right to access and use the content of our website subject to these Terms and Conditions.
Website content includes information, text, images, graphics, designs, logos, data, links and other material made available through our website.
Content may occasionally contain typographical errors, inadvertent errors or inaccuracies. We reserve the right to correct or update information, descriptions, specifications or other website content.
Unless otherwise permitted by law or authorised by us in writing, you may not:
Reproduce substantial parts of our website or Content;
Modify our Content;
Use our Content for commercial purposes;
Remove copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices; or
Present our Content as your own.
21. Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, the Secret Sauce Box name, branding, website, original designs, photographs, graphics, written material and other original Content belong to Secret Sauce Box or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-party producer names, trademarks, logos and product names remain the property of their respective owners.
Nothing contained on our website grants you ownership of, or a licence to commercially exploit, our intellectual property or that of any third party unless expressly stated otherwise.
22. Website Availability
We aim to keep the Secret Sauce Box website available and functioning correctly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may temporarily alter, suspend or withdraw parts of our website for maintenance, security, technical or operational reasons.
We are not responsible for interruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

By subscribing to Secret Sauce Box, you agree that we may send you service-related communications necessary to operate and manage your subscription.

Dispatch notifications;

Delivery information; and

26. Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a Secret Sauce Box subscription.
Products should be kept out of the reach of young children, particularly where sauces contain significant levels of chilli.
If products are consumed by another person, you should ensure that they are provided with the relevant ingredient, allergen and safety information before consumption.
27. Events Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing our obligations where this results from events outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
Postal or courier disruption;
Industrial action;
Severe weather;
Natural disasters;
Supplier shortages;
Production problems;
Government restrictions;
Transport disruption;
Cyber incidents; or
Other comparable events outside our reasonable control.
Where reasonably possible, we will take steps to minimise disruption.
28. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate a subscription where reasonably necessary, including where:
Payment repeatedly fails;
Fraud or misuse is reasonably suspected;
A customer behaves abusively towards our staff or service providers;
The subscription is being used unlawfully; or
Continuing to provide the subscription is no longer reasonably possible.
Where we terminate a prepaid subscription without fault on your part, we will provide any refund required by law for products that have not been supplied.
29. International Orders
Where Secret Sauce Box offers delivery outside the United Kingdom, customers are responsible for ensuring that the products can lawfully be imported into and consumed within their destination country.
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country.
Where these charges are not expressly included in the price paid to Secret Sauce Box, they are the responsibility of the recipient.
International delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs clearance.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, services or legal obligations.

Where required by law, material changes affecting an existing paid subscription will be communicated to you.
31. Severability

The remaining Terms will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms and any contract between you and Secret Sauce Box are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
33. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any specific terms displayed to you when purchasing your subscription, form the agreement between you and Secret Sauce Box relating to your subscription.
Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
